Multimedia

The Multimedia Program is offered to all juniors and seniors and prepares students who may want to enter or further their education in Photography and Digital Design occupations.

Junior Year Overview

Junior students learn how to capture and manipulate images in digital photography with some skill development in darkroom film processing, printing and enlarging. Topics taught include camera functions, mechanics of image capture, image manipulation, and print production while shooting photographs in various studio, indoor and outdoor settings.

Juniors also learn basic video production skills of how to read and interpret a script, select and maintain equipment and combine graphics, text and special effects.

Senior Year Overview

Senior students create designs for two- or three-dimensional products. Using workflow processes, they lay out newsletters, posters, business cards and other products. They create logo and package designs for corporate branding, marketing and advertising.  In addition, seniors learn to combine text, still photography, audio, videography and graphics to create interactive Web pages.

Multimedia students participate in the Lancaster SkillsUSA chapter, where they gain many valuable leadership skills and can compete at the regional, state and national level. Students are able to create their own designs as well as designs for many outside community events and organizations.

We must face every opportunity boldly with courage and an open mind. Multimedia taught me how to think outside the box and do what feels the most natural even if it’s not always traditional.
